And the Grammy goes to...Michael Carney. Congratulations to Michael for the deserving award. This is really the only Grammy award I ever pay that much attention to. It is one of the few national non-industry awards that a designer can win.

The first time I saw the album cover for Brothers my attention was stolen. I am not even a big Black Keys fan, but I gave a long hard though to picking up the cd anyway. The stark, simple, no-nonsense cover is a perfect compliment to the stripped down garage rock sound of the Black Keys. The Cd itself is printed with thermal ink that transforms the cd from a blank black canvas to reveal the hidden artwork when the disc is handled or played in a cd player.
